Les Roues de l'Areuse
Les Roues de l'Areuse in Saint-Sulpice, Switzerland, is an open-air heritage site in the Val-de-Travers that tells the story of the region's industrial past and its legends. The freely accessible trail with 13 stations features two restored water wheels (1886) as well as the still-operating power plant, and offers an overview of more than six centuries of history. The route also passes through the nature reserve around the sources of the Areuse river. A picnic area is available at the start of the trail near the Groupe E power plant.
Families and Kids
The trail is suitable for children and offers a walk through nature and energy in the Val-de-Travers. Good footwear is recommended as the route partly leads over forest paths.
