Kunstmuseum Olten

The Kunstmuseum Olten is a municipal art museum in Olten, Switzerland, housed in a former residential and commercial building at Kirchgasse 8 in the heart of the old town. It holds a collection of Swiss art of supra-regional importance from the 19th century to the present, including the estate of the political draughtsman and caricaturist Martin Disteli, as well as estates of artists such as Otto Morach, Meinrad Peier and Hans Küchler. The museum presents changing exhibitions of historical and contemporary art and, since 2020, hosts the collection of the Foundation for 19th-Century Art. It also runs the Dienstraum satellite space for contemporary art on platform 7 of Olten railway station.

Families and Kids

Children and young people up to 18 years of age have free admission. The museum offers a children's club (Kunst-Lupe) for children from kindergarten to 6th grade, an open studio for all ages, and materials such as games, puzzles and craft ideas for a playful visit. Families are welcome and can use materials for joint art viewing.
