Klostermuseum Müstair

The Klostermuseum Müstair is located in the Plantaturm, a residential and defensive tower over a thousand years old in the Benedictine convent of St. Johann in Müstair, Switzerland. The museum is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site and offers a journey through 1250 years of monastic, architectural and art history. Visitors experience the cloister, the mighty cellar of the Plantaturm and three upper floors with representative, living and prayer rooms as well as the baroque Hohenbalkenzimmer. Archaeological finds and art-historical treasures are shown, offering insight into the life of the Benedictine nuns past and present. The museum also presents changing exhibitions on the monastery's collection.

Families and Kids

For children and families, the monastery of St. Johann offers a playful trail with the monastery cat Babette. Over twelve stations, children follow Babette across the monastery courtyard, into the church and the museum and solve creative tasks. The trail is aimed at families with children aged around 6 to 13 and is included in the museum admission. There are also colouring sheets to print out and special programmes such as introductions to fresco painting on special occasions.
