The Kletterwald Erlebniswald Mainau is a high ropes climbing park located in the Mainau forest on the mainland opposite the island of Mainau near Konstanz, Germany. It offers nine varied climbing courses at heights of 3 to 16 meters, suitable for families, groups and companies. The park also provides team-building activities such as axe throwing and archery, as well as an adjacent historic beer garden at St. Katharina. The minimum age for climbing is 6 years with a minimum height of 110 cm.

The climbing park is open seasonally from 15 March to 1 November 2026. During the season it is open Tuesday to Friday from 12:45 to 15:45 and Saturday, Sunday and holidays from 10:15 to 15:45, with the last start at 15:45.

  • Can I climb alone in the climbing park?
    Yes, climbing alone is possible. The park uses a Coudou Pro continuous belay system with a full-body harness, safety carabiner, roller and helmet, which allows you to climb independently.
  • What are the requirements for children and young people to climb?
    The minimum age for all courses is 6 years with a minimum height of 110 cm (treehouse course from 130 cm, sports course from 150 cm). Children up to 13 years must be accompanied by an adult, and young people aged 14 to 17 must present a signed consent form from a legal guardian.
  • Can I visit the climbing park in bad weather?
    The climbing park is open in all weather except thunderstorms, storms and hail. It is also possible to climb in the rain, but you should bring rain and change clothing. The park may close early if the weather changes or if there is insufficient demand.
  • Do I need to bring my own climbing equipment?
    No. The park provides a full-body harness with safety carabiner and rope roller, as well as a climbing helmet, which are issued at the ticket office. For safety and legal reasons, it is not possible to climb with your own equipment.
  • Is there a weight limit for climbing?
    Yes, the weight limit is 120 kg. The climbing suitability can only be assessed on site by a guide.
