Johanna Spyri Museum
The Johanna Spyri Museum is located in the village of Hirzel (Horgen) in Switzerland, high above Lake Zurich, where the world-famous creator of Heidi, Johanna Spyri, spent her childhood. The exhibition sheds light on her quiet, diligent work beyond the Heidi novels, her family history and her social engagement. Visitors can browse Johanna Spyri's books, experience a Hirzel school lesson around 1840 and discover original objects as well as reproductions of letters and manuscripts. The museum is suitable for young and old and also offers a museum shop and an audio station.
Families and Kids
The museum is suitable for young and old. Children aged 6 to 12 receive a children's guide, and there are age-appropriate games and puzzles. Children up to 6 years enter free.
