Galleria Baumgartner
The Galleria Baumgartner in Mendrisio, Switzerland, is a model railway museum founded from the collection of Bruno Baumgartner (1930-2015). Spread over three floors covering more than 2,300 square metres, it houses over 4,000 exhibits including model trains, ships, value cards, stamps and postal objects. Highlights include the world's longest model of a railway station, the Rothenburg station in 1:87 scale, and a vintage saloon train. The gallery also hosts changing temporary exhibitions.
Families and Kids
Families can discover the history and evolution of transport and communications through reproductions of trains, airplanes, ships and military vehicles. Young visitors can drive Märklin My World battery-powered model trains on special circuits. The gallery also offers a cafeteria where small birthday parties can be arranged.
