Fondation Martin Bodmer

The Fondation Martin Bodmer is a UNESCO World Heritage library and museum dedicated to the history of writing from its origins to the present day. It houses over 150,000 objects including papyri, manuscripts, incunabula, and rare books from 80 different cultures. The permanent exhibition traces 5,000 years of civilization since the invention of writing.

The museum offers themed visits for younger audiences, family workshops, a history of writing discovery trail for children 7-12, and an Ancient Egypt discovery trail for children 8-12. School workshops on the history of writing are available for pupils aged 8-12.
