City Museum Aarau
The City Museum Aarau houses a collection of around 60,000 objects on the city's history, mainly from the 18th to the 20th century, including furniture, photographs, posters and technical cultural assets. It presents changing exhibitions on topics such as art, photography and urban history, including the current exhibition 'New Realities – how artificial intelligence depicts us'. The museum also includes the 'Aufschluss Meyerstollen', a walkable tunnel system under Aarau station from the early industrial period.
Families and Kids
The City Museum Aarau offers children a booklet with search games and puzzles for the current AI exhibition 'New Realities' as well as a DigiSpace experimental laboratory for young and old. School classes can take part in guided tours and workshops.
