Centre Emys

The Centre Emys in Chavornay, Switzerland, is a unique turtle conservation and recovery centre, housing around 3,000 turtles. Run by the Protection et Récupération des Tortues (PRT) association, it rescues abandoned turtles and works to protect the only native Swiss turtle, the European pond turtle (Cistude). The centre has a strong educational focus, welcoming many schoolchildren and students, and offers guided tours and children's workshops. It also hosts changing temporary exhibitions and events.
