Centre Albert Anker

The Centre Albert Anker in Ins, Switzerland, is an artist's house comprising the gently restored historic Anker family home with the artist's studio and a newly built art pavilion in the garden. The permanent exhibition presents the life and work of the 19th-century Swiss painter Albert Anker in thematic chapters, set in both his Bernese home village and the national and international context of his time. The collection includes the historic studio with its original objects, painting materials and a library of over 1,000 books, as well as around 900 sketches, drawings, watercolours and oil studies. The art pavilion serves as a venue for changing temporary exhibitions and the conservation of the collection.

Families and Kids

Children under 16 enter free of charge. A guided children's opening is offered for the youngest guests aged 4 and up. The Centre also offers workshops for school classes.
