The ruins of the former Castels Castle rise on a rocky spur above the village of Putz in the municipality of Luzein in the Prättigau valley of Graubünden, Switzerland. Built in the 13th century as the seat of the Barons of Aspermont, the castle served for centuries as a center of power and administration in the middle Prättigau before being abandoned in the 17th century. Today the freely accessible ruins with their inner courtyard, fireplace and panoramic views invite visitors to experience history up close. The site also hosts cultural events such as the Easter festival, concerts and the Samichlaus celebration.

    Yes, there is a PostBus stop in Putz, from which it is only a few minutes' walk to the castle hill. The castle is served by the Schiers–Buchen–Putz–Pany–St. Antönien and Kübli–Luzein–Strilserrank–Pany–St. Antönien lines.
  • Is the path to the castle suitable for wheelchairs and strollers?
    Yes, the path is well walkable and can also be managed with a stroller or wheelchair. The large gate is not locked and is publicly accessible at all times.
