Castello Visconteo
The Castello Visconteo in Locarno, Switzerland, is a Renaissance castle and civic archaeological museum. Visitors can admire painted coats of arms, 15th-century frescoes, early 20th-century graffiti and ancient wooden ceilings, as well as the suggestive inner courtyard. The rooms house an archaeological exhibition, two historical exhibitions on events of European importance that marked Locarno, a lapidarium and an exhibition of 18th-century costumes and ceramics. From the tower there is an interesting view over the city.
Families and Kids
The castle offers a family treasure hunt kit 'Dov'è finita la Contessa?' for children aged 5 to 12, included free with the entrance ticket. There is also a castle library for families with books in several languages, and various birthday party packages for children aged 4 to 13.
