Cartoonmuseum Basel

The Cartoonmuseum Basel in Basel, Switzerland, is the only Swiss museum devoted exclusively to narrative art. It presents and mediates comics, graphic novels, cartoons, caricatures and animated films and holds a collection of around 12,000 original works by about 700 artists of the 20th and 21st centuries from around 40 countries. The museum shows carefully curated exhibitions on current topics or individual artists and also integrates related genres such as free drawing, illustration and animation. It also houses a library on caricature, cartoon and comics and regularly hosts changing exhibitions.

Families and Kids

The museum offers age-appropriate guided tours and workshops for children and young people for each exhibition, where participants draw under the guidance of an educator. Family-friendly Cartoon Sundays and summer workshops let children discover the world of comics, cartoons and animated films, and birthday workshops can be booked for children's parties.
