Burg Maur

Burg Maur in Maur, Switzerland, is a stone residential tower built around 1250 and the main seat of the Museen Maur. Since 1976 it has housed the Herrliberger Collection of prints and publishing works by Zurich engraver David Herrliberger, the Salomon Cabinet with works by Salomon Landolt and Salomon Gessner, and a Kunstkammer for changing exhibitions. The castle cellar contains a copperplate engraving workshop and a letterpress printing workshop where historical printing techniques are demonstrated. The castle also hosts changing temporary exhibitions.
