Botanical Garden of the University of Zurich
The Botanical Garden of the University of Zurich, located in the Seefeld district of Zurich, Switzerland, invites visitors year-round to explore its fascinating plant diversity of around 7,000 different species. As part of the Institute of Systematic and Evolutionary Botany (ISEB), the garden is integrated into university research and teaching. It features futuristic geodesic dome greenhouses, themed biotopes from Mediterranean flora to alpine gardens, and is part of the Museumsnetz Zürich.
Families and Kids
The botanical garden offers an Erlebnisgarten (experience garden) for children with three stations to explore botanical themes such as tree rings, wood weight and plant roots, plus a barefoot path. There is also a children's exhibition in the foyer of the greenhouses and monthly children's courses from April to October for children aged 6 to 10. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
