Botanical Garden Bern
The Botanical Garden of the University of Bern, located in the city of Bern, Switzerland, has been a diverse and colorful oasis since 1859. It presents over 6,000 plant species from around the world, organized into more than 60 areas according to habitats, geographical aspects, ecological requirements, systematic criteria, and human use. The garden includes seven greenhouses where visitors can immerse themselves in different vegetation zones, as well as an alpine garden, useful, ornamental and medicinal plants, and ecological areas. It also hosts changing temporary exhibitions and educational programs for all ages.
Families and Kids
The garden offers a free puzzle game ('Zeitheldinnen auf der Spur') recommended for ages 8 and up, which can be played alone or in groups throughout the year. Children must be supervised, and there are dedicated children and family programs as well as school offerings from kindergarten through all school levels.
