Bioparc Geneva

The Bioparc Genève (formerly Parc Challandes) in Bellevue, Switzerland, is the only place in the canton of Geneva where visitors can observe over 300 animals of about 90 different European and exotic species. The park works for biodiversity through four key missions: conservation, research, awareness-raising and environmental education, and animal-assisted therapy. It houses around twenty mammal species, more than sixty bird species including many parrots and cockatoos, as well as several reptile species, and also operates a wildlife care centre and refuge.

  • Can I bring my dog to the Bioparc?
    Dogs on a leash are welcome at the Bioparc, except on the purple route (carnivore corridors). Visitors with dogs should announce themselves at the reception.
  • Is the Bioparc accessible for people with reduced mobility?
    Wheelchair users can access all visitor paths, but must be assisted by someone else, as some passages remain narrow, sloping or difficult to cross.
  • Are strollers allowed in the Bioparc?
    Strollers are allowed in the Bioparc but are not practicable in the carnivore corridors. Visitors are invited to leave their stroller at the entrance of the purple route before visiting that part.
  • Is there a restaurant at the Bioparc?
    The Bioparc does not have a restaurant, but offers a variety of snacks, drinks and ice creams for sale.
  • Do I need to be a member to visit the Bioparc?
    Access to the animal park is reserved for members of the association. A daily membership costs CHF 10 per adult (free for children up to 16), and an annual membership costs CHF 50 per household, granting free entry all year round.
