Bergbaumuseum Graubünden
The Bergbaumuseum Graubünden in Davos Monstein, Switzerland, presents the history of mining in the canton of Graubünden across four floors. The museum displays ores and minerals, historical tools, a valuable calcite and crystal collection, and rocks that glow under ultraviolet light. Functional models illustrate historical mining engineering, including a reconstructed windlass (Haspel) and an iron mine model. The museum also hosts changing temporary exhibitions.
Families and Kids
The museum offers hands-on exhibits such as a reconstructed windlass (Haspel) and an animated iron mine model with moving elements, which children can explore. The UV cabinet shows glowing minerals. Note that the old building has a steep wooden staircase and is not wheelchair accessible.
