Located in the heart of Geneva's Old Town, Switzerland, the Musée Barbier-Mueller showcases one of the world's largest private collections of traditional arts from Africa, Asia, Oceania, pre-Columbian America and various ancient civilizations. Founded in 1977 by Monique and Jean Paul Barbier-Mueller, the museum holds several thousand works spanning from Antiquity to the present day. The collection includes sculptures, fabrics and ornaments from various cultures, many considered indispensable masterpieces. The museum also hosts changing temporary exhibitions and organizes itinerant exhibitions worldwide.
