The Swiss Open-Air Museum Ballenberg is the largest museum in Switzerland, showcasing over 100 historic rural buildings from all over the country on a 66-hectare site. Visitors can explore traditional architecture, watch live demonstrations of over 30 historic crafts, and encounter around 200 farm animals representing native Swiss breeds.

Ballenberg offers a large adventure playground, a woodland playground, a petting enclosure with farm animals, a historic carousel, and many hands-on activities like butter making, roof tiling, and historic games. Fairy tale readings take place once a month.
