Aviaries at Landsgemeindeplatz

The Volieren am Landsgemeindeplatz in Zug, Switzerland, are historic city aviaries run by the Ornithological Association of the City of Zug (OVZ). Around 50 species of native and exotic birds live in two architecturally notable aviaries, the Fasanerie and the Neue Voliere, housing between 150 and 170 birds. The association also manages the Hirschgehege deer enclosure at the Schützenmatte and a swift colony in the Pulverturm tower. The aviaries participate in conservation breeding programs for threatened bird species and offer guided tours.
