The Antikenmuseum Basel houses Switzerland's largest collection of ancient Mediterranean cultures, spanning over 5000 years from Egypt, the Near East, Greece, and Italy. Its permanent exhibitions include Egyptian art, Greek vases, Etruscan culture, and Roman sculptures, complemented by the Skulpturhalle Basel with over 2200 plaster casts.
Families and Kids
The museum offers interactive children's trails through the Egyptian and Greek vase exhibitions, birthday parties for ages 7-10, and various hands-on workshops such as clay modelling, plaster casting, and hieroglyph writing for different age groups.
