Altes Rathaus Schwänberg (1630)
The Altes Rathaus Schwänberg in Herisau, Switzerland, is a late Renaissance town hall from 1630 that houses a museum exhibition curated by the Museum Herisau. The exhibition, with an informative audio-visual show and original cultural objects, provides insights into the changing history of the Schwänberg hamlet and its inhabitants. The building and the surrounding settlement, one of the oldest in the Appenzellerland region, reflect the development from a 17th-century prominent quarter to a weaver's village. The historic rooms, including the festival hall with its original clay tile floor, can also be rented for private events.
