Alt-Schauenburg
Alt-Schauenburg is a preserved castle ruin on the rugged rock summit «Chleiflüeli» near Frenkendorf in the canton of Basel-Landschaft, Switzerland. The compact castle complex with a thick shield wall was built around 1275 by the Lords of Schauenburg and abandoned after its destruction in the Basel earthquake of 1356. The ruin was excavated and conserved in 1976/77. Finds include fragments of various medieval stoves and a clay figurine of a noble lady.
