ALPS Swiss Alpine Museum

The ALPS Swiss Alpine Museum in Bern focuses on the relationship between people and mountains. It presents several changing exhibitions in parallel on current social topics such as the environment, climate change and the relationship between urban and alpine worlds. The collection comprises around 4,000 objects, 13,000 prints and artworks as well as about 500,000 photographs covering photography, mountaineering, tourism and panoramas and landscape reliefs. The museum is part of the Bern Museum Quarter and runs its own restaurant.

The ALPS offers a children's trail through the exhibitions as well as activities such as postcard collaging and a treasure hunt in the Lost and Found Office. In the las alps restaurant, children get a syrup free of charge, and there is a playground and picnic options in the Museum Quarter garden. Children up to their 12th birthday visit the exhibitions free of charge.
