The Wispile Run (SM 720) covers 8.2 km with about 729 m of descent and is rated moderate. Sledders first pull their sled for roughly 40 minutes to the start; the upper section is steep and fast, while the lower part is less steep and leads to the heritage-protected village of Gsteig, from where a post bus returns to the Wispile valley station.

  • What winter hiking trails start on the Wispile?
From the Wispile mountain station, an easy panoramic circular trail (Ww29, 7.7 km) leads along the ridge with views of the mountains around Lauenen.
