Wiriehorn
Wiriehorn is a ski area in the Diemtigtal Nature Park near Zwischenflüh in the Bernese Oberland, Switzerland. It offers 11.5 km of downhill pistes served by a six-seater chairlift, four ski lifts, two children's lifts and a magic carpet, reaching from 984 m up to 1868 m above sea level. The area is popular with families and short-notice visitors and also offers sledging, winter hiking, snowshoe trails and a bike park in summer.
Families and Kids
Wiriehorn is family-friendly: children under six ride the chairlift free, and older children pay the day-ticket price for unlimited rides. The Swiss Snow Kids Village is the starting point for beginners, and there are two children's lifts and a magic carpet. In summer a 500 m² adventure playground with a 25 m slide sits right by the mountain station, plus a family treasure hunt, geocaching and a 6 km scooter route.
Food and drinks
The Berghotel Wiriehorn at the mountain station houses a mountain restaurant with homemade, regional cuisine, a self-service restaurant, an outdoor bar and a large sun terrace with panoramic views over the Diemtigtal. It seats 210 guests indoors plus 140 on the terrace. Culinary events such as the Wiriehorn brunch, fondue and raclette evenings and grill buffets are held regularly.
