Skilifte Bumbach Schangnau

Skilifte Bumbach Schangnau is a family-friendly ski area in the Emmental, stretching from the valley floor at 920 m above sea level to the foot of the Hohgant at 1365 m. Two T-bar lifts (Roseggli and Gemeinenwängen) serve more than 9 km of pistes of varying difficulty, all running across alpine meadows; the first section is technically snow-covered. A children's lift with the only magic carpet in the Emmental complements the offer.

Families and Kids

A children's lift is located right next to Gasthof Rosegg, whose terrace offers a direct view of it. The only magic carpet in the Emmental sits beside the children's lift and provides an easy introduction to winter sports, ideal for beginners who cannot yet use a T-bar lift.

Food and drinks

Gasthof Rosegg is located right by the piste and offers information and reservations by phone. The Furgge Gadä mountain hut is open in January on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday and in February from Wednesday to Sunday, with dinner available on reservation.

Pistes are open daily: Monday to Friday from 09:30 to 16:30, at weekends from 09:00 to 16:30 (children's area from 10:00 and 09:30 respectively). Operating hours are subject to change depending on snow and weather conditions.

Admission fees

All tickets are issued as a hands-free chip card with a CHF 5.00 deposit, refunded at the valley station ticket office or credited against consumption at Gasthof Rosegg. Tickets are personal and non-transferable. Besides day and hourly tickets, multi-day cards, a 6-day card, single rides, children's-area tickets, family and school tickets are offered. The Magic Pass replaces the season pass of Skilifte Bumbach Schangnau, while day and hourly tickets remain available.
