Schüpfheim

Schüpfheim lies in the UNESCO Entlebuch Biosphere in the canton of Lucerne and is a regional centre with a wide range of sports, cultural and leisure activities. In snowy winters, a ski lift and a cross-country ski trail close to the village provide winter sports. The municipality also offers hiking and biking tours, an outdoor swimming pool, a roller sports park, a vita course as well as barbecue and playground areas.

Families and Kids

The Sagenwald playground is a generation playground with slides, a high-rope course, a forest labyrinth and a large sandpit; the rear part has exercise equipment for all ages as well as two large grills and picnic tables. The Schüpfheim outdoor pool has a toddlers' area for water fun, while older children can jump from the 3-metre board or swim lengths. The Oberlindenbüel farm is designed to be very child-friendly and invites visitors to see cows, calves, goats, sheep and rabbits.

Schüpfheim has several restaurants, including Restaurant Bahnhof serving traditional cuisine right by the station, Restaurant Sommergarten at the outdoor pool (May to September), and Hotel Kreuz with Entlebuch specialities and pizza made from regional ingredients. Further options are Restaurant Cavallino with pizza and pasta, the China & Thai Restaurant Mr. Hung with take-away, and Gasthaus Bad about 2 km outside the village.
