Schatzalp/Strela (Davos Klosters)

The Schatzalp-Strela ski area above Davos Platz is a small, hotel-owned winter sports area reached by the Schatzalp funicular and a chairlift directly from the Berghotel Schatzalp. After seven years of closure the lifts run again; the quiet slopes, prepared only with natural snow, suit leisurely skiers and children in particular. The award-winning "SlowMountain" area is free of charge for hotel guests.
Families and Kids
The quiet, natural-snow slopes of Schatzalp-Strela are described as particularly suited to children and leisurely skiers. A 2.8 km sledging run down to Davos Platz is free to use and also suitable for children and beginners, with sledges available for rent.
Food and drinks
The nostalgic mountain restaurant Strela Pass at 2,352 m serves homemade soups, hand-rolled tarte flambée, Grisons, Austrian and Walser specialities, cakes in jars and apple strudel. At the Schatzalp itself, the Panorama restaurant with sun terrace, the Snow Beach terrace restaurant, the Belle Epoque dining room and the Piano Bar offer regional and Mediterranean dishes, afternoon tea and live piano music.
