Sainte-Croix / Les Rasses
Sainte-Croix / Les Rasses is a family winter and summer resort on the Balcon du Jura Vaudois in Switzerland, near the French border and sheltered by the slopes of the Chasseron. The ski area, operated as a single domain, offers marked downhill pistes served by téléskis including the Rasses I, II and III, Avattes and Cochet installations, plus a dedicated beginner zone. The resort is also known as the world capital of the music box and is easily reached by road and private railway from Yverdon-les-Bains.
Families and Kids
The resort has a beginner zone with two installations on gentle 6% and 9% slopes, where parents can accompany children on foot or on skis. Sledges and bobs are not permitted in the beginner zone but a dedicated sledging run is located right beside it.
Food and drinks
On the pistes, Les Planets at the foot of the slopes is a good stop before exploring the alpine and nordic ski trails, Le Coucou sits at the start of the installations next to the beginner téléski, Les Avattes offers a panoramic terrace at the top of the Avattes field, and La Casba is at the foot of the Cochet piste. In the region, Les Cluds serves typical Jura chalet cuisine, the Grand Hôtel des Rasses has a panoramic terrace, and La Gittaz offers traditional cuisine and local specialities.
