Flumserberg

Flumserberg
Flumserberg ski resort lies directly above Lake Walen in the canton of St. Gallen, between Zurich and Chur. It offers 65 kilometres of pistes for all levels, 17 modern lifts, three fun parks and two free practice areas at Prodalp and Tannenboden. Highlights include the challenging, ungroomed Terza descent and night skiing in the Flumserberg Galaxie.

Families and Kids

Families find a free practice area with magic carpets at Tannenboden and Prodalp, the 900 m HäxäWäldli adventure slope and the Wernli FamilyRun fun park between Prodkamm and Prodalp. Children can join group ski lessons from the age of 3 at the two Swiss Snow Kids Village areas, and a children's ski race is held weekly. A flat children's sledging hill is located next to the Prodalp practice area.

Food and drinks

Numerous mountain restaurants and huts invite visitors to take a break, from the rustic Bergrestaurant Chrüz and the traditional Alprestaurant Panüöl to the self-service Bergrestaurant Prodalp and the modern COLORS Restaurant and Bar. Guests can choose between quick self-service snacks, table-served lunches, coffee and cake on sun terraces, or drinks at the bars. Regional specialities such as Bratwurst and Flumser Härdöpfelriebel are served, and the Bergrestaurant Chrüz is known for its Chrüz-Spiess from the grill.

FAQ

  • Are there free practice areas for beginners at Flumserberg?
Yes. The practice areas at Tannenboden and Prodalp, equipped with magic carpets and practice lifts, are open daily from 09.00 to 16.00 and are free of charge.
  • What is the Terza descent and what should skiers know about it?
The Terza descent is an ungroomed, very challenging run from Seebenalp to Oberterzen, over 6 km through deep snow, taking 30 to 60 minutes. Whether it can be skied depends on the snow conditions, and it requires considerable skill. From Oberterzen, the SeeJet gondola takes you back to Tannenboden in about ten minutes.
  • When does night skiing take place at Flumserberg?
Night skiing in the Flumserberg Galaxie takes place on the 2 km Chrüz slope every Friday from 18.30 to 21.30, plus on selected additional dates. It only runs in good snow and weather conditions, and the SeeJet gondola from Unterterzen is not in operation during the Nightride offers.
  • Is there a ski school at Flumserberg and which lessons are offered?
Yes, the Swiss Ski and Snowboard School Flumserberg offers private and group lessons for children, youths and adults, plus snowboard, cross-country, Telemark, freeride and ski touring courses. Children can start group lessons from the age of 3, and there are two Swiss Snow Kids Village practice areas at Molseralp and Prodalp.
  • What other winter activities besides skiing are available at Flumserberg?
Flumserberg offers a 3 km sledging run from Prodalp to Tannenheim with night sledging on selected dates, 20 km of cross-country ski trails including a dog trail, 35 km of winter hiking paths and 11 km of snowshoe trails. There are also dog-sled rides, paragliding and an avalanche training centre.
