Ebenalp-Horn

Ebenalp-Horn is a family ski area in the Appenzellerland in Switzerland, reached by cable car from Wasserauen. The area around the Ebenalp and the Horn lift in Schwende offers easy blue pistes, a children's area with magic carpet and rope lift, a beginner funpark, night skiing and marked winter hiking and snowshoe routes. The Ebenalp is also a starting point for mountain hikes in the Alpstein and is home to the Aescher mountain inn and the Wildkirchli caves.

Families and Kids

The children's area at the Horn lift in Schwende offers simple, manageable terrain at the valley floor, reached by a magic carpet or rope lift, with the mascot Hornli accompanying the youngest guests. A practice area on the Ebenalp is also well suited to beginners, and the beginner funpark at the Horn lift has a kicker, obstacles and a wave track for young riders.

Food and drinks

Several mountain inns and alpine farms surround the Ebenalp, including the famous Gasthaus Aescher built against the rock face, the Gasthaus Ebenalp, Mesmer, Schäfler, Seealpsee and Meglisalp. They serve down-to-earth, regional cuisine with traditional Appenzeller specialities, and many also offer overnight accommodation.
