Corviglia

Corviglia
Corviglia is the ski resort above St. Moritz in the Engadin, Switzerland, operated by Engadin St. Moritz Mountains AG and rated a five-star ski resort. It offers wide, groomed slopes for all levels, a snow park, a skicross course, and access up to Piz Nair at 3,057 metres. The area is reached by funiculars from St. Moritz and Celerina and also serves as a summer mountain for biking and hiking.

Families and Kids

Corviglia has a dedicated First Steps practice area and the Provulèr children's ski area in Celerina with ideal practice slopes and safe lifts; tickets are required for children from the age of 0. Two child-friendly chairlifts, Trais Fluors and Tschainas, serve young skiers, and the Family Run and the Corviglia Cross skicross course add variety. In summer, the Marguns children's playground invites climbing and sliding.

Food and drinks

Corviglia has a broad dining scene ranging from rustic mountain huts such as the Clavadatsch and Alpina huts to restaurants like Chasellas, Trutz and the Langosteria right on the slopes. The Chadafö in Marguns serves homemade pizza and pasta, the quattro BAR at the Corviglia mountain station offers snacks and drinks, and the Restaurant Piz Nair 10 000 Feet serves cuisine at 3,057 metres. The Sternbar Marguns is an open-air winter bar on the slopes.

FAQ

  • Is Corviglia suitable for wheelchair users and guests with limited mobility?
Accessibility varies between the individual mountain railways, so full accessibility cannot be guaranteed everywhere on Corviglia. Guests using wheelchairs, walkers or other mobility aids should contact the operator at least two hours before arrival on +41 81 830 00 00 or info@mountains.ch, and can check the Ginto Guide entries for the Celerina gondola, the Chantarella/Corviglia funiculars, the Piz Nair cable car and the Signal cable car.
  • What is the White Carpet offer on Corviglia?
The White Carpet lets guests ski on freshly groomed slopes starting at 7:45 a.m. on Corviglia, before regular operations begin. It requires getting up early but rewards visitors with the first turns in the snow under the morning sun.
  • What is the Corviglia Cross course?
The Corviglia Cross is a skicross course just below the Salastrains mountain station, with waves, dips and fast turns, open to skiers and snowboarders of all ages.
  • Can I have my skiing filmed and timed on Corviglia?
Yes. The Ski Run course uses fully automated cameras to record your run from start to finish, with an original Ski World Cup starting gate, a display showing the daily best time to beat, and a light barrier that starts the timer. The video and photo can be viewed and downloaded afterwards.
  • Are there ski school options for improving park and freestyle skills?
Yes, the “Fresk” ski school offers freestyle classes on Corviglia covering bag jumps, trampolines and halfpipe training, and classes can be booked online.
  • How do I get to Corviglia without a car?
The Engadin is best reached by train: the Rhaetian Railway runs from Chur to the Engadin, or from Landquart via Klosters and the Vereina Tunnel to St. Moritz. From St. Moritz Bad, the Signalbahn valley station is served by PostBus and local bus, and the Chantarella and Corviglia funiculars provide direct access to Corviglia.
