Charmey

Charmey is a ski area in the Fribourg Pre-Alps of Switzerland, accessed by the Charmey-Vounetz gondola. The area on the Vounetz offers around 30 kilometres of pistes for all levels, a beginners' area, virgin slopes for freeride enthusiasts and the Charmey Swiss Ski School. The season runs from November to February.

Families and Kids

Charmey offers a children's hill at the summit with nine wooden marble games, a free snowtubing area near the snow garden, and a snow garden with ski lift and magic carpet for beginners. The Swiss Ski School provides junior group courses and a snow garden programme. A dummy tree with the story of Titounet the rabbit helps families with children giving up their dummies.

Food and drinks

Charmey offers several dining options: Restaurant Le Vounetz at the summit with traditional Fribourg dishes and a panoramic terrace, the Snack de l'Alpage near the gondola arrival, L'Embarcadère at the mid-station with snacks and picnic tables, and the Bar Le Vigousse at the foot of the gondola with drinks, ice cream and light meals.
