Mittelländer Hügelroute, Stage 1/4

The first stage takes you from Thun into the Kiesental valley. A sweeping panorama awaits you in Gysenstein. The gentle hills give way to ditches and harrows in the Emmental valley. Huge farms stand proudly but sedately in the picture-perfect landscape. Past Burgdorf with its castle, you head along the Önz river to the Herzogenbuchsee lake and Langenthal.
